The letters on my watch have shadows and are a little blurred. What is wrong with the display?

Very often this shadowing occurs with a surge in energy and is typical when a new battery is inserted or when the watch starts up for the first time. The shadowing of the letters is just a temporary matter that will last about 24 hours or less and should not occur again unless a new battery is inserted.
